I started playing guitar at the age of 7. When I was about 12 I started playing out with my band – parties, fares, youth festivals. I grew up on Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Bowie, Eno, Stravinsky, Miles, Echo & The Bunnymen, Talking Heads. I played and practiced and gigged as much as I could and at the end of high school I decided I wanted to spend my life in music.
In my final year of my masters program at Rhythmic Music Conservatory I moved to New York. I got heavily involved in the downtown music scene around the club and label Nublu for which I did a handful of albums as part of groups like Wax Poetic and the Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris.
